giant crocodile captured


A giant crocodile captured in the Philippines. 6.4 meter long crocodile was captured in a small river in Bunawan, Agusan del Sur province after three weeks of being hunted by fishery and forestry officials.
Crocodile weighing 1075 pounds was captured alive after officers set a trap to catch the animal.
Catching a giant crocodile has been warmly welcomed by local residents. Why, it's jumbo animal believed to be responsible for a series of attacks on humans and other animals.
Hunting of crocodiles was started after the animals were devouring a buffalo last month which was witnessed by a number of villagers. Reptiles are also alleged to have killed a fisherman who disappeared in July and a girl who disappeared in 2010.
According to Ronald Nuer, project director of District Council Bunawan, as reported by the website of The Inquisitr, Tuesday (6-9), officials and residents took 21 days to catch the male alligator. In fact it took 100 men to attract the crocodile from river.
Crocodile will then be placed in a wildlife park in Agusan, about 830 kilometers southeast of Manila, the Philippine capital.
"That would be the biggest star of the park," said Mayor Edwin Cox Elorde as precise. He said villagers are now happy because they can make it dangerous crocodiles as an asset of the previous threats.
But despite the giant crocodile has been captured, the villagers still have to be aware of several other crocodiles that still roam the region has a population of around 37 thousand people.
